Do you know the state of play of eGovernment in your country?

Do you know the services on offer, the actors, the strategy behind, the legislation and the latest developments?

All the above can be checked quickly in the eGovernment factsheet of Bulgaria that the European Commission has recently updated and published here.

In addition, information on the state of play in a further 33 countries can be checked here.

The main trends identified during this year’s exercise are:

  1. New open data portals have been created, in part due to an increasing number of countries joining the Open Data Partnership.
  2. The eIDAS regulation’s implementation is progressing well.
  3. Cybersecurity is one of the emerging topics. European countries realise that increasing digitalisation of public services comes with greater risks of security breaches and some of them have consequently launched cybersecurity strategies.

The factsheets were produced in collaboration with national eGovernment experts and serve as a unique tool to identify best practices in the field of eGovernment policy in particular, and the modernisation of public administration in general.

All factsheets have been published by the European Commission’s National Interoperability Framework Observatory (NIFO), which is operating with the support of the ISA² programme. ISA² supports the modernisation of Public administrations in Europe through the development of IT solutions that foster interoperability, sharing and re-use.
